Key Objectives

  • Education and Awareness: We provide ongoing training and resources to staff and governors to ensure they are well-versed in equality legislation and best practices. We also promote cultural understanding and awareness within our school communities.

  • Addressing Specific Needs: We are committed to closing attainment gaps for all groups of students, with a particular focus on those eligible for Pupil Premium, students with special educational needs and disabilities, children looked after (CLA), and students from minority ethnic groups. We also prioritise mental health awareness and provide appropriate interventions when necessary.   

  • Accessibility: We continuously improve accessibility, making reasonable adjustments across our school sites to ensure that all students, staff, and visitors, including those with disabilities, have full access to all facilities and resources.

  • Inclusive Curriculum: We regularly review and revise our curriculum to ensure it reflects the diversity of our society and promotes tolerance, respect, and understanding.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: We actively monitor the progress we make towards achieving our equality objectives and regularly review our policies and practices to ensure they remain effective and relevant.

We stand united against hate or hate crimes of any nature.  We are firmly committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all members of our community.  Our objectives emphasise the importance of celebrating diversity and ensuring that every student, staff member and stakeholder feels safe, valued and respected, regardless of their background or characteristics.

We actively challenge and address discriminatory behaviour and language, promoting awareness and understanding through education and training.  By doing so we aim to cultivate a culture where equality, dignity and respect are upheld and where hate in any form is neither accepted nor ignored.

We believe that collaboration is key to achieving our equality goals. We regularly consult with staff, students, parents, and community members to ensure our policies and practices are inclusive and reflect the needs of our diverse community.
